The kitchen screen shows every order you are cooking, with what to make and when it is due. A new order plays a loud sound and flashes until someone accepts it, so nothing is missed.
Before you start
You need a tablet or screen in your kitchen with the sound turned up.
Steps
- On the tablet, sign in to the Merchant Portal and open Orders, then Kitchen.
- Tap Start kitchen mode. Turn the volume up.
- When a new order arrives, the tablet rings and flashes. Tap Accept.
- Choose how long the order will take.
- If you want it on paper, tap Print to get a kitchen ticket. It includes the customer's notes and any no-utensils request.
- When the food is ready, tap the ready button. Your customer is told it is ready for pickup.
- When they collect it, tap Handed over.
When you are slammed
Use busy mode to add extra time to every new order's wait. You can also pause new orders for a while. Turn either one off when things calm down.
Good to know
- The alarm keeps going until someone taps Accept, so leave the tablet where staff can hear it.
- Delivery orders show up on the same screen, with their own ready button.
- Table orders show the table name, so the kitchen knows where the food goes.
- Other store types get a similar order screen called Order desk. Kitchen tickets are for restaurants.
- You can still open any order from All Orders to change it. See how to take and prepare an order.
