How to text callers your ordering link

Send customers a text with your ordering link while they are on the phone, and set up missed calls to text it automatically.

A ringing phone during the rush slows everyone down. With Phone Orders, callers order from your own online page, with your photos and prices, and your staff can take the next call.

Text the link during a call

  1. In the Merchant Portal, open Orders, then Phone Orders.
  2. While the customer is on the phone, tap Text the link.
  3. Type their phone number and press Send.
  4. They get a text with your store's name and a link to order from you.

Back on Phone Orders, you can see every text you have sent and whether the link was opened.

Text the link when you miss a call

When you are busy or do not answer, your phone forwards the call to a number we set up for you. The caller hears a short greeting with your store's name and presses 1 to get the text.

  1. On Phone Orders, open the Missed calls tab.
  2. Type the number your customers call and tap Set it up.
  3. When your number is ready, copy it. Open the forwarding guide, pick your phone company, and tap a code to dial it on your phone.
  4. Tap I've turned on forwarding.
  5. Tap Test it. Call your store number from another phone and do not answer. You will see when forwarding works.

Good to know

  • You keep your own phone number. Only calls you cannot answer are forwarded.
  • If you are closed, the greeting says so and offers your menu link for later.
  • Each call gets one text, and the same caller is not texted again for a while.
  • The Missed calls list shows who called, when, and what happened. Tap Call back to ring someone yourself.
  • Phone Orders is for restaurants, liquor, convenience and grocery stores, on plans that include it. See /pricing/.
