How to keep your stock in sync with your POS

Update your online stock from a spreadsheet exported from your POS, and choose how stock counts are handled on your website.

If your POS can export a spreadsheet, you can update your online stock from it. Customers then see what you really have on the shelf.

Before you start

Export a CSV file of your products and stock from your POS.

Steps

  1. Open Integrations, then POS Integration.
  2. Choose CSV Import.
  3. Pick your file and press Upload and import.
  4. Matching products update straight away.
  5. Look at the list of anything we couldn't match, or that has a mistake, and fix those rows in your file or on the Products page.
  6. Open Settings, then Inventory, to choose how stock is handled.

Good to know

  • On the Inventory settings page you can let your POS control stock, control it yourself, or let your POS set the starting number that you can override per product. You can also use a simple in stock or out of stock switch with no counts.
  • When your POS controls stock, you can't edit quantities by hand.
  • Orders are not sent back into your POS, so keep recording in-store sales there as usual.
  • If you'd like a direct connection to your POS instead of file uploads, contact us and tell us which POS you use.
